Over the couple last years, the nation and the world have experienced a phenomenon like no other. Everyday normalcies – trips to the grocery store, visits with family, food and beverage experiences, have been eradicated or modified in ways we would never expect. When the Coronavirus pandemic swept the nation and shut downs took place, The LEE Initiative (Let’s Empower Employment) and Maker’s Mark stepped in. The LEE Initiative, with support from Maker’s Mark, supported the food, beverage and hospitality industry as a whole with freshly cooked meals, much needed supplies, resources and more, with 19 relief kitchens established across the country.
Enter the Maker’s Mark CommUNITY Batch – a special release bourbon created by the community, for the community, to support trade and hospitality partners around the country. This unique expression was created by passionate people with exceptional palates. By combining the stave profiles of their Private Selection barrels, this limited release reflects the remarkable strength - and distinct taste profile - of each community. The result is an exceptional expression that is truly by the community, for the community.
We created the second release of The CommUNITY Batch using stave percentages of more than 20 Maker’s Mark Private Selection expressions developed by whisky clubs working in collaboration across the country. These aficionados have a true affinity for the hospitality industry, and their passion shines in this offering.
